Located in the heart of Diamond Bar, CA, IOK’s campus serves residents of four neighboring counties in their pursuit of Islamic Knowledge. Virtually, this space offers much more to the community by way of ilmspirational videos, social media content and online classes available live, or on-demand.
Since its founding over 20 years ago, the IOK community has moved through three temporary homes to this permanent home, which continues and grow and evolve in its services to the community. The love and trust of our visitors, donors and investors helps to ensure our mission of Fostering a Finer Future thrives.
In the spring of 1998, IOK began as an after-school Quran and academic tutoring program with approximately ten students.
Upon incorporation in 2001, thanks to wide-spread community support, we purchased a property in Chino to establish the full-time Quran memorization program with supplemental academic education. After the tragic events of 9/11 and the rise of negative perceptions towards Muslims, unfortunate circumstances arose and the surrounding neighbors in the area were no longer welcoming of our presence. Faced with multiple challenges and rising sentiments, we had no choice but to suspend operations at our Chino property in the interest of safety for our students and staff.
After three more interim locations between a private residence in Rowland Heights, a second in the Country in Diamond Bar, and a third in Walnut, we transitioned into renting spaces at the Islamic Center of San Gabriel Valley in 2003, and then at the Islamic Education Center in 2005, at the request of the late Dr. Ahmad Sakr, may he rest in peace.
Given the imperative of continuing to educate and serve our community, the need to continue our services developed into an appeal for securing a commercial property in Diamond Bar on Via Sorella in 2006.
Despite a recessing economy, with the help of God, the Most Generous, and the unwavering support of our benefactors and larger Muslim community, we broke ground in 2008 and completed construction to open our doors in 2012.
A few years later in 2016, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase the next-door land parcel and building and expanded our campus to the formidable institute and city landmark you see today. What once started as a fledgling effort in private spaces has now blossomed, with the favors of The Almighty and generous well-wishers, into a far-reaching organization influencing educational and spiritual support programs in the greater LA area and across the nation.
The IOK Campus prides itself as a hub of knowledge for the Muslims of Southern California and beyond.
The Full-time TK-10th grade school, Hifdh Al-Quran program and Weekend School cater to our youth while the IOK Full-time and Part-time Seminaries are home to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Guest speakers, visitors and organizations across the country are welcome to connect and partner with our programs to use us as a host site.
The IOK Musallah hosts daily prayers, Friday congregations, and taraweeh prayers.
The IOK Campus hosts family programs weekly in partnership with local masajid and ensures our Shuyookh are available to communities across California for lectures, sermons, classes and retreats.
Ceremonies of happiness, and reflection are welcome to be booked at our facility – our Musallah and grounds are available for private rentals and our team does its best to coordinate more detailed requests.
Our Seminary students, teachers and Alumni are engaged in year-round research, publications and video productions. IOK Publishing has also published four books that are distributed through Amazon.
IOK’s Campus is equipped with over 40 surveillance camera’s monitoring every foot of our facility and is guarded 24 hours throughout the day by security personnel. The safety of our visitors is our number one priority. We work closely with local and state law enforcement officials to ensure our campus is frequently patroled and maintains their highest security standards.
