Hifdh al-Quran at IOK is taught through individualized instruction that incorporates correct memorization, review of new lessons (sabaq) and ongoing cumulative review (manzil) in accordance with individually assigned daily and monthly goals. Goals are determined in accordance with the student’s demonstrated ability to memorize. The generalized Hifdh program is a standard plan by which the average student may memorize a moderate portion of the Quran each year working towards completion in 10th grade. By the 5th grade, the goal is to have all students read with the correct pronunciation, fluency and memorize independently. The main goal of the Quran program at IOK is to equip the students to be proficient readers of the Quran.
