Mission Statement

IOK School seeks to empower its students to reach their full academic and spiritual potential through an integrated education in the religious and contemporary sciences in a nurturing environment conducive to student learning, character building, and leadership development. 

Vision Statement

Our vision is to become the premier Islamic leadership and college preparatory school that fosters the next generation of ethical leaders and professionals, who as role models grounded in the religious tradition and knowledgeable in the contemporary sciences, can serve the Muslim community, American society, and humanity at large.

School Administration

Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Hachache, the School Director, has over 13 years of teaching experience and over 5 years of administrative experience.  He earned his Bachelors in History, Masters in Teaching, and holds Single-Subject Teaching Credentials in Social Science from UC Irvine.  He has worked both in public and private schools in the U.S. and abroad.

Shaykh Imran Ahmed, the Religious Director, has committed the entire Quran to memory. Like Sh. Nomaan, Sh. Imran went to Karachi after high school to study the Alim Course at Jamia Binoria. He graduated from the rigorous 7-year program in 2002 at the top of his class and with numerous Ijaazaat (Licenses) in various Islamic Sciences. He also received equivalent Masters degrees from the University of Sindh.

Mr. Ahmed Rangoonwala, the Operations and Office Manager, graduated from California Polytechnic State University in Pomona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Management (Human Resources) from the College of Business Management in 2007.  Ahmed spent a total of 15 years in retail management. During this time, he got his Emergency Teaching Credential and frequently worked as a substitute teacher at local schools. In 2013, he was hired as Operations & Office Manager for IOK, where he currently manages all aspects of the organization, including the construction of the recently-acquired property.

Ms. Lisa Kahler, the School Secretary, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Johnston Center at the University of Redlands with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies.  She has four children who all attended IOK School programs, and are currently attending other venues of higher education.  This is her fifth year at IOK as school secretary.  Prior to IOK, she worked at the Straight Way School as a secretary and also as a homeroom teacher (sixteen years). Ms. Lisa is a resource for students and staff.  She is responsible for ensuring that classrooms are covered each day and for the procurement of substitutes when teachers are absent.  She also ensures that there is appropriate supervision on the playground and is usually the first stop for student discipline or first aid problems.

Ms. Sara Bokker, the Office Secretary and WASC Assistant, graduated with high honors from Florida International University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations and International Relations. In 2003, Sara moved to Cairo, Egypt and embarked on an intense independent study of Islam and Arabic immersion. Sara worked at an International Islamic School in Cairo as a Kindergarten teacher and became the Head of the Kindergarten Department and served in that aspect until 2014, when she moved to California.  She homeschooled her three children until June 2016, when she was hired at IOK.
